SABC1 and Bonngoe Productions have introduced a new entertainment show, The Sauce, on Thursday, 19 October.
The show is set to ignite screens and captivate viewers, diving into the world of glitz, glamour, and the latest celebrity happenings.
Executive producer of the show, Leticia Masinga, said when they started the journey with SABC1 they knew that they couldn’t do a show like The Sauce on their own.
“My executive team is well experienced, but The Sauce needed that sauce, and we knew that we could only get that from the Gen-Zs themselves. So, when we were tasked with this job, the first thing we did was to workshop with Gen-Zs.
"We called every young person we knew to come and find out what they watch and how do they decide what they don’t watch as well,” she said.

Leticia expressed her admiration for their host Nomalanga Shozi and said she completes them.
Nomalanga said being a black child who grew up watching the SABC channels, it meant a lot for her to be part of the team.
“SABC1 was the heart of South African television. The heart of South African entertainment. We saw ourselves represented so beautifully, so raw and vividly,” she said.
She said finding a platform where they would bridge the gap between the old and the new is amazing.
“To be somebody who is in the position to reconcile those two worlds is amazing,” she said.
She expressed her gratitude for the opportunity and the smooth integration into the SABC1 team.
“It was a really easy process integrating myself into your space and the home that you have now created for me and this new world I am stepping into which is the world that is very familiar to me. SABC 1 is a familiar space for me and like I said it's been a part of my upbringing,” she said.
