AFTER losing his brother in August, Sakhile Biyela finally has some good news.

The reality TV star, whose twin brother was shot dead outside a mall, will be joining Mzansi Magic’s Imboni Yama Tekisi.

The reality show, which features taxi bosses, will premier on Wednesday 2 November at 8pm. It was shot in Gauteng, KZN and Mpumalanga and gives viewers a peak into the taxi industry.

According to a statement released by Mzansi Magic, Sakhile (36) and his brother Thabani have 20 children between them. They had to flee Empangeni, KZN, due to feuds in the taxi business.

Sakhile said although running a taxi business was not easy, it was not all bad.

“I understand that the taxi industry is known for violence but it’s not only that. This industry can be fun and interesting,” he said.

“There are taxi bosses who don’t only chase money and are also contributing positively to their community.”

He said the death of his brother devastated him.

“The show will start by showing the life of my late brother. Viewers will get a brief overview of his death,” he said.

“I don’t want to lie, my brother’s death put our plans on hold. I wish he was still there and we could shine together.”

The twins’ reality TV break was in May when they appeared on the Siko twins’ reality show Twice as Bold.

Imboni Yama Tekisi will also feature Nthabiseng Koroane from Gauteng, whose husband left his taxis to her when he died. She will tell her story of being a woman in a male-dominated industry.

The other cast member is Mpumalanga taxi boss Sabelo Ndaba, who has survived numerous attempts on his life, one of which left him in a wheelchair. According to the Mzansi Magic statement, he is a polygamist and a farmer.
