DAVID Mc Klopper believes that anything in life is possible.

The 22-year-old athlete from Toekomsrus in Randfontein, Gauteng was born with Roberts phocomelia syndrome.

It's a rare condition in which sufferers are born with underdeveloped limbs, missing limbs, or arms and feet close to the body.

The athlete has swapped swimming for a music career.

As a swimmer, David has won a couple of competitions.

He won seven gold medals at the SA Nationals for people living with disabilities.

The event was held in 2019 in Cape Town, where he won medals in different categories including 50m butterfly, 100m butterfly, 50m and 100m freestyles, and 50 and 100m backstroke.

In 2017, he was part of the SA team in the World Para Swimming Championship held in Mexico, where he finished fourth in the finals.

However, he decided to quit swimming and venture into a music career.

David started producing his music in August 2023 and has released seven singles.

His latest offering is called Sondela

"The song is about individuals who loved someone," he said.

"I featured one of my artists Sage Sapphire on the songs. She will serenade music lovers with her powerful voice."

David said his music is available on online platforms.

He told Daily Sun that some people living with disabilities think their situation defines them.

"However, through my situation, I managed to achieve a lot. I even competed on the international stage through sport.

"With the support of my family, they made it possible for me to believe that I can achieve anything I want in life," he said.

David loves Master KG's music.

"He inspired me to pursue music when he released his Skeleton Move album.

"It was the first song I enjoyed, and I fell into music after."

He said his dream is to be signed under Master KG's record label and produce a full album.
