THE Qwabe Twins have music fans eating from the palm of their hands.
And they say it is because of their parents’ prayers.
The 25-year-old Viggy and Virginia from KwaDukuza, northern KZN, say their music career, which started after their Idols SA journey in 2019, is blossoming because their parents have their backs.
Their song Alusafani featuring Big Zulu, Mduduzi Ncube and Xowla has hit 500k views on YouTube.
The twins are nominated in the Sebenza Women Awards in the Best Woman in Music category.
The nominees were announced on 28 July and the awards ceremony will take place on 2 September in Mpangeni
“We are surviving and it’s because of prayers. Our parents pray for us.
“They support our career and that keeps us going,” said Virginia.

Afrotainment boss DJ Tira took the twins under his wing after their Idols exit.
He wrote on Instagram that he prayed for strength to manage and mentor them.
Virginia said they believe that prayer is a powerful tool to use for strength and success.
“We grew up going to church every Sunday. Our parents taught us well about praying. They also taught us the importance and effects of praying. We know that we must include God in everything we do. That’s why we don’t go to bed without praying and we start our day with prayer,” said Virginia.
Viggy said the award nomination is one of the results of praying.
“When we feel that things are hard, we are comforted by the fact that we have the full support of our parents.
“They give us love and their time. We thank God for this nomination,” said Viggy.
