LOCAL creatives are now in Quinton’s good hands!
The promoter and speaker from Kimberley in the Northern Cape, who is now based in Gauteng, Quinton Shaun Mlaza, has come up with a company called Meant 2 Be Creative together with his business partners.
He told Daily Sun that he realised that many young talents ended up on the streets because they were bored or had nothing to do, so he has started the company to look after their interests.
He said the artists ended up wasting their talents and abusing substances.

“I met Annette Pratt at a high school we were working at. We came up with the idea to create a company called Meant 2 Be Creative that will bring change to the Springs community and other areas of Ekurhuleni.
“I also knew Bafana Khanye before I Annette. We would talk about entertainment stuff, so he is also a member of our company,” he said.
Quinton, who explained that the company was founded in 2021, said: “Meant 2 B Creative is a creative company based in Casseldale, Springs, which runs live singing sessions, Springs Arts Alive Festival and anything related to events in Ekurhuleni and around Joburg.
“We want to meet the needs of the community when it comes to entertainment and events. We’re also looking foward to empowering South African youth and discovering new talent.”
Quinton said they also give back to the community by upskilling the youth, running a soup kitchen and donating school shoes, clothes and food parcels.
“We are assisting two schools in Springs with finding sponsorships or donations,” he said.

Quinton urged the community and other stakeholders to partner with them in their community development initiatives.
“Our first Meant 2 Be Creative Unplugged Session Valentine’s Month of Lovers event will take place on 25 February 2023 at Springs Civic Theatre, featuring sensational singer Sia Mzizi. The public can get tickets at Shoprite, Checkers and Usave Money Market,” said Quinton.
He said his trip to the Best Diplomat Conference held in Egypt last month taught him a lot about bringing change to society, especially when it comes to arts, education and the issue of gender-based violence.
