JOBURG promoter Rabelani “Rabbs Vhafuwi” Madula is demanding his money from Makhadzi.

This after he booked Makhadzi in August, but she pitched late for her performance.

“I run my own gigs on Sundays called The Sunday Service. Between May and September, I was doing these gigs at Cohibar in Melrose Arch. On Sunday, 21 August I booked Makhadzi and she charged me R20 000,” said Rabbs.

“She was supposed to perform at 23:00 because we used to close at 00:00, but she arrived at 00:15. Since she didn’t perform, we agreed that she’d perform the following Sunday, 4 September. But on that Sunday, she came with more stories. She said she was in Botswana and cannot come back,” said Rabbs.

Rabbs said Makhadzi promised to refund him after her One Woman Show, which was happening on 1 October, but she never paid him.

“She stopped taking my calls. She also stopped responding to my messages. On 26 December I met her at Makhadzi Family Day at Giyani Stadium. When I saw her, she promised to pay me after the show,” he said.

After 26 December, he did not bother Makhadzi anymore. Instead, he organised a gig for her.

“The purpose of arranging this gig was to get my money back from her. I knew she’d be paid R100 000. That gig was happening on 29 December and I was actually hoping she’d pay me. So, after that gig I started communicating with her, but she ignored me,” said Rabbs.

Out of desperation, Rabbs exposed Makhadzi on social media on 6 January.

“A mutual friend called me and her and we spoke on a conference call. She said she didn’t have money but promised to perform instead. She said I must organise another gig. I tried to organise another event, which is supposed to be on Sunday, 29 January. But again, she’s ignoring me,” said Rabbs.

Daily Sun has seen Makhadzi’s message.

She wrote: “Are you on a mission to destroy my name? I will pay your money from today. I will send you eWallet of R2 000 until I finish paying it. Send the number that I must use. I will finish paying it end of March. That’s what I can afford. I don’t have your money cash.”

Brendon Maseko from Open Mic said: “We know nothing about this gig. We never invoiced him and we’ve never communicated with Rabbs. It’s possibly an agreement between Makhadzi and Rabbs.”

Called for comment, Makhadzi’s phone rang unanswered and she also didn’t respond to text or WhatsApp messages.
