OPERA singer Pretty Yende has been invited to perform at what’s considered one of the biggest events in the world, the coronation of King Charles of England in May.
Pretty (37) shared the news on social media and said she feels honoured and blessed to be invited.
The coronation will take place in London on 6 May.
“It’s hard to put into words how honoured and blessed I feel to receive an invitation to perform at The Coronation of Their Majesties, The King and The Queen Consort at Westminster Abbey on Saturday, 6th of May 2023,” she wrote.

The musician from Piet Retief in Mpumalanga is a world-renowned opera singer and her career has been based mostly abroad.
Pretty also recently announced that she will be joining forces with a Swiss musician, Nadine Sierra and they will be performing around different cities in Europe such as Paris, Prague and Switzerland.
“My dear beautiful souls, I have another incredibly exciting announcement for you! My dear friend and extraordinary colleague, @nadine.sierra, and I are embarking on a wonderful duo tour together that will begin this February 25th in Lauenen ????; will take us to Smetana Hall in Prague ???? on March 1st and to the @philharmoniedeparis in Paris ???? on March 6th,” she wrote.
She said more performances would be announced.
