EXPRESSO presenter Jamie-Lee Domburg has revealed that she’s leaving the morning show.

Jamie-Lee announced her departure on social media and thanked people who’ve supported her since joining the show.

She said she laughed, learnt and cried on the show, and woke up with a smile on her face every day.

“After 3 years of laughs, learning, and crying with my beloved @expressoshow family, waking up at 4am with a smile on my face every day because I absolutely love what I do,” she wrote.

Jamie-Lee joined the show after winning Presenter Search in 2019 alongside Kuhle Adams, and she said it’s been a great journey.

“Being a part of the @presentersearchon3 journey 3 years ago, a show that was designed to make people like me believe that I can dream more and achieve greatness, has done exactly that. I am dreaming more, I am looking to be better and make sure that I hone my craft so well that I know every single time I take on a challenge whether it be in the radio, TV, MC or digital space, I have the ability to serve my audience,” she wrote.

“Yes, sometimes one has to step away from something you love to gain that experience and that skill set to pursue a different path,” she continued.

Jamie-Lee is also a host of Heart FM and hosts OverDrive with Jamie-Lee every Monday to Thursday, between 6pm and 8pm.

Fellow presenters Katlego Maboe, Ryle Rene De Morny and former presenter, Kuhle Adams, all wished her well.

Katlego said Jamie-Lee had become like family.

“I don’t have words to express how this saddens me – you have really found a special place in my heart, sis. We are family now and always. I know God has your back and His plans for you and your gorgeous family are unfolding beautifully. You are such an inspiration to me and so many out there – keep shining your light with that infectious smile and warm heart,” he wrote.

Ryle said her departure broke his heart.

“As much as this breaks my heart somehow, I feel excited at the same time. Looking back at your journey it’s truly incredible what you have already achieved in such a short period of time. More importantly the people that you impacted, inspired and made believe in dreams along the way. You have a gift and I am so grateful that you are using it for a higher purpose. Jamie you are only just getting started I truly can’t wait to see your journey unfold,” he wrote.
