MZANSI mourns the death of Bongs German.  

Bongani “Bongs” Skosana (41) gained popularity in 2018 for his videos praising German cars.   

His family told the Daily Sun that he died on Wednesday morning, 4 October, after a short illness.  

His cousin Marry Skosana said he started getting sick on Monday, 2 October.  

“He was around his hometown in Kwaggafontein KwaNdebele. He was first admitted to a clinic and then transferred to Tshwane Hospital. After being discharged, he had complications and passed away. It was a heart failure," she said. 

Marry said the family is not taking his death well.  

“It's not nice. I'm not going to lie. We're taking it one step at a time. By the grace of God, we're handling it,” she said.  

Marry said people are welcome if they're willing to help with his funeral.

Many social users expressed how the news of Bongs' death made them feel, and some have been sending condolences to the family and reflecting on he loved German cars.

Hope that all the guys who’ve been making you trend gather and buy a customised casket of a German car. May the hearse and family cars be German cars. You’ll always remain in our hearts camp."
