FORMER Idols SA judge Randall Abrahams has been appointed as the new CEO of Primedia Broadcasting.

Randall took over from Geraint Crwys-Williams from Tuesday, 24 May.

He was a judge on Idols SA from 2002 until 2022, when Idols SA released a statement that he would not return as a judge.

He was the station manager of Good Hope FM. He became part of the team that set up YFM. He was also a managing director at Universal Music.

Primedia Broadcasting is home to radio stations 947, 702, Kfm 94.5 and CapeTalk, and independent news brand Eyewitness News.

Primedia Group CEO Jonathan Procter said: “Randall is an extremely accomplished and celebrated figure in the media, music and entertainment arena. He is passionate about radio and building best-in-class talent. Randall’s broadcasting experience and acumen is unmatched.”

He further said: “I am confident that Randall will make a significant contribution to Primedia. I see him not only playing a critical role in entrenching Primedia as a forward looking, leading-edge media company but also helping to accelerate talent development across our prized suite of media offerings.”

Randall said: “I am pleased to return to a swiftly evolving broadcast landscape and I’m very excited to join the Primedia Group.”
