Pastor Jabu Hlongwane’s upcoming album talks about his journey in the gospel music industry.
The singer, co-founder and director of the MTN Joyous Celebration, told SunBuzz that his upcoming album, My Chapters, means a lot to him.
The singer said this is because he made it out of Covid-19 pandemic, which affected many people including artists.
He said the album is set to be released on 30 July.
The Soweto-born pastor and businessman, who grew up in KZN, said with this project, he wants to share with the world his journey as a songwriter and music producer.
Jabu has been making music for many years and his work as a songwriter and producer inspired many young up-and-coming artists to venture into music.
“This album represents my journey in music since I started professionally. It’s my musical memoir,” he said.

The musician said the reason the album is called My Chapters is because the songs are grouped into three types.
“Each type or style is referred to as a chapter. Each track is referred to as a verse.
“This naming of sections and songs alludes to a biblical reference to sections of the good book,” he said.
Jabu said as a Christian, his music is his spiritual walk with God.
The Iyeza himaker said there are 12 tracks on the album.
“My Chapters has 12 tracks and I love them all, just like God loves all 12 tribes of Israel,” he said.
Jabu said all his songs represent a special time in his life and the experiences he was going through when each song was written.
“Only one song, titled Wanghlawulela, was written for me by a prolific songwriter, Nduduzo Motsa from Swaziland.
“He gave it everything that I imagined it would be,”he said.
Jabu said his fans should expect more from him in the near future.
“I am busy with my second book and writing music for my next album,” he said.
The singer said he’s also doing a lot of speaking engagements.
“I am a teacher, preacher, coach and businessman, and that keeps me very busy.
He promised to share his activities on social media.
“I will announce my activities on my social media pages, as well as my YouTube channel, that will be launched in a month’s time,” Jabu said.
