Record producer and DJ, Oskido’s dad, Esaph Mdlongwa, has died.

Oskido announced his death on Twitter, saying he lost his life to Covid-19.

“It’s with great sadness to let you know that I have lost my old man due to Covid-19, a great man who inspired me to understand the value of life. So long Mdala, rest well. I will see you again in the next lifetime. You’ve showed us a way and shone the light Akwehlanga lungehlang,” he wrote.

Esaph was well-known in the Zimbabwean political sphere as he was one of the founding members of MDC Alliance. The party is Zanu-PF’s biggest opposition party.

MDC Alliance also announced the news of his passing on Twitter last night.

“#BREAKING Esaph Mdlongwa, founding member of the opposition Movement for Democratic Change, has passed away. He was the party’s first organising secretary and is a former MP for Pumula-Luveve. We are deeply saddened by this news and express our deepest condolences to his family,” they wrote.

Messages of condolences from followers and fellow industry peers filled Oskido’s comment section on Twitter.

Black Coffee and Cassper Nyovest, who recently lost his father too, also sympthaised with the DJ.
