Nomzamo Mbatha visited the affected families in her hometown.

The actress and TV host was in the area to see families affected by the recent floods.

Nomzamo (31), together with Cotton On Foundation and UNICEF South Africa, went to see the families who are in need of clothes, housing and food vouchers.

Thousands of homes were affected by floods and many people lost everything.

The actress from KwaMashu, who is best known for her role as Thandeka Zungu on Mzansi Magic's telenovela Isibaya, was heartbroken by the devastation.

Nomzamo and the Cotton On Foundation pledged to donate R500 000, in partnership with UNICEF South Africa. This will be done through fundraising campaigns across the country.

All purchased  products from Cotton On stores such as water, masks and bags will be used to help the needy..Part of the plan to help rebuild a school in KwaMashu.

Nomzamo has travelled the world helping kids and mothers across boarders with food and sanitary pads. Through her brand, she has played a huge role as a social activist and humanitarian.
