THE battle between event organiser Dee Dlamini and Zodwa Wabantu has moved up a gear.

Dee (32) told Daily Sun the controversial dancer told her lawyers she would not pay the money she owed her.

The trouble started when Zodwa failed to turn up at Dee’s event called Men’s Cave at The Farm Guest Lodge in Daveyton, Ekurhuleni, on 4 June. She said Zodwa promised to return the money she was paid but a month later, she was still waiting.

Dee said she had sent a letter of demand to Zodwa through her lawyers. She accused Zodwa of taking advantage of her kindness, making her business suffer.

“I want to buy a machine as I have a laundromat and just renovated. Honestly, I wish I could do more to embarrass her,” she said.

Dee said she had been self-employed since 2017 and made money through hosting events and her laundry business. She said Zodwa promised to pay back the R10 000 deposit she paid her.

However, Dee said Zodwa told her lawyers she didn’t pay back booking fees.

“Zodwa just confirmed to my lawyer during the week that she is not going to refund me as she doesn’t refund,” Dee said.

Zodwa, whose real surname is Libram, told the SunTeam she was aware of the matter and would pay Dee back.

“I am busy with initiation in the Eastern Cape. I am so busy right now that I can’t pay her now,” she said.

“I will pay her back by the middle of this month. Probably on 15 July,” she said.

The dancer said she would let Dee know as soon as she was done with everything.
