CASSPER Nyovest has finally sent condolences to the family of his murdered rival, AKA.

The rapper, whose real name was Kiernan Forbes, was gunned down on Florida Road in Durban, KZN on Friday night, 10 February.

By Saturday morning, Cassper’s name was trending and some Twitter users were dragging him.

Yesterday afternoon, Cassper broke his silence and wrote: “My sincere condolences go out to Kiernan and Tebello’s families, colleagues and fans.

“May their souls rest in peace and their legacies be celebrated.

“May the good Lord be with all of you at this sad time.”

Rapper Nomuzi Mabena told Daily Sun AKA’s industry colleagues were still waiting to see how they could help the family. “We are not ready to share more information with the media platforms,” she said.

“We will let you guys know more about this when the time is right,” she said.

The musician said they would issue a statement in due time.

“Yes, we will provide you guys with the necessary information. For now, it’s just family members and friends.”

A guard outside AKA’s home in Joburg told the SunTeam he could not allow anyone in.

“We were told not to let anyone into the complex unless it’s family,” . As you can see, it’s just them mourning their loved one and we can’t let you in as I don’t want to risk my jobhe said.

The guard said although he never had a one-on-one conversation with the rapper, he was saddened by his death.

In a statement confirming his death on Saturday, the family wrote: “It is with extreme sadness that we acknowledge the passing of our beloved son. and confirm his untimely and tragic passing.

“We are awaiting further details from the Durban police.

“To us, he was a son, brother, grandson, nephew, cousin, and friend and father to his beloved daughter Kairo.”
