MZANSI has been sending messages of love and strength to the Dlamuka family after the passing of Moja Love’s Isencane Lengane star, Bab’ Mthandeni Dlamuka.

Bab’ Dlamuka died on Saturday night, 10 July, following a long illness, which many saw him suffer from during the show.

He shared that he was ill on the show and kept getting worse as time went by.

The old man started getting less screen time from then on.

Mzansi loved this old man for always disciplining his son, Siyacela Dlamuka, no matter how harsh he sounded.

At some point, he called him isthuphethu (stupid) because of some of the decisions he made and that name has followed Siyacela ever since.

Speaking to Daily Sun, Bab’ Dlamuka’s eldest son, Nqobani Dlamuka, confirmed that his father died on Saturday night.

He said his father wasn’t well on Saturday morning and they took him to the doctor, who then transferred him to the hospital.

“We took him to the hospital and later that night, we were told that he had passed on,” he said.

Nqobani said the family was sad but they find strength in knowing that Bab’ Dlamuka is now in a better place because his sickness really took a toll on him.

He described his father as a straight-talker, a peacemaker in the community and a giver.

He said he loved and supported his family members at all costs, no matter how difficult some of them were.

He also used to support the community financially and emotionally whenever he could.

“He refused to see anyone suffer on his watch. So long as he had the means to help, he did just that,” he said.

Bab’ Dlamuka will buried on Friday in Ulundi, KZN.

Mzansi has been sending condolences to the Dlamuka family.

“Rest in peace to Bab’ Dlamuka. The news of the passing of Pastor Mthandeni Dlamuka has touched many people. Heaven has gained an angel,” said Pontso Mabena on Twitter.

Thuli Madlala said everyone noticed how Siyacela and Mthandeni always fought and she hopes that Siyacela and his wife took some of the lessons that the old men shared with them.

“We really grew fond of the old man. He’ll forever be remembered and loved by many South Africans,” said Thuli.
