MZANSI'S new reality TV show S'jola Sonke has shocked viewers.

The show follows three couples who want to enter into a polyamorous relationship.

One of these couples is Kwanele “Finch” Thusi (30) and Julius “Juju” Tsebe (28), who are a bi-sexual couple.

"The decision to join the show was difficult at first because we were still in the closet. Our parents didn’t know we were bi-sexual.

"But we sat down and talked about it. We decided to be brave because we wanted to explore our relationship and add another partner," Finch said.

Juju said: "We are a bisexual couple and we wanted to add a lady into our relationship. So naturally, when we saw the advert for this show, we immediately thought it’s the perfect way to do that."

However, since the show aired, viewers have been convinced that the two are not a couple. Most people on social media say that they look more like friends than lovers.

“People doubt we are a couple because we are a very unconventional bi couple. A normal gay couple, according to people, is two guys, one feminine and the other masculine. That’s what we’re shown on TV, and we are not like that. So, with us, it’s two masculine guys and people don’t understand this relationship. This is why we wanted to go on a show and show that masculine men can be in a relationship. We wanted to fight stereotypes as well," Finch said.

The couple has been together for two and a half years and said it has been difficult to find a third partner.

"The experience has been a bit overwhelming. On the show, we have to reach that open space where we challenge our emotions and everything else about our relationship. It’s a mind opener because we thought going into an open relationship would be easy.

"I did not know that Julius likes different girls than me. I realised we are different and that was a challenge," Finch said.
