AFTER suffering from childhood trauma, domestic abuse and addiction, Tasha Hendrixx has found healing in music.
The 27-year-old from Tshwane said she hasn’t had an easy life but when she makes music, everything becomes better.
The singer, songwriter, producer and sound engineer, has recently released an album titled BlackD Out.
She said the album is about elements of her past.
“The album talks about the pain that I am healing. The name of the album just means that I am not okay, I am BlackD out,” she said.
She said she is still healing.
“Healing is a process that has no time, and it gets different for everyone,” she said.
She told Daily Sun she has been at war with herself for 15 years.

“I would numb myself with alcohol and marijuana. I was heavily addicted to marijuana which a lot of people think it can’t numb everything I was feeling,” she said.
She said she believes her story can save many people who had the same problem she had.
“Now that I'm not addicted anymore, I am in a better space in terms of facing myself. It's not easy, and I believe God put me through this to heal people even though it was painful, but I had to go through that,” she said.
She said she wants people to listen to the spirit of God through her music.
“I want them to feel that there is a higher power through this artist. I believe they will be healed,” she said.
She said everyone is broken in some way.
“When you hear me, you'll find some sort of closure or healing because of my story, I would love to know that I changed someone’s life. And I’ve already received messages from people saying that their lives have been changed because of my music,” she said.
