MRS eSoweto pageant is returning for another leg, which promises to be bigger and better!

Expect to see women who have gone through hardships in life competing for the title. The pageant is set to take place on 19 November.

Fikile Motaung, the director and founder of Mrs eSoweto, told Daily Sun that entries for the pageant are now open.

She said they want women who live in Soweto who are between 35 to 55 and are married, divorced, engaged or widowed to enter.

Fikile said this year's pageant promises to be bigger and better. Fikile from Mapetla in Soweto said they will also run a few workshops that will instill confidence in these women as most of their self-esteem is affected the minute they are divorced or lose their significant others in tragic events. She said these pageants are all about restoring hope.

She said the workshops will equip contestants with different skills that include modelling, public speaking as well as mental health and health awareness. She said this year the winner will walk away with R100 000 worth of prizes that will include cash, spa treatments, furniture and beauty products.

"We also be giving out a Legendary Honorary Award at the finale to one legendary Woman who placed Soweto on the map and we planning to make it a continuous thing," she said.

Fikile said they will start their audition on 15 July at YWCA on corner Mahalefela Road and Ncube Drive in Dube, Soweto. She said the audition fee is R350 and there are no height restrictions.

"We have decided that the age requirement be 35-55 years as opposed to last year when it was 25-50 years. The reason being that opportunities for most women at the age 35-55 years old are minimised. So, Mrs eSoweto is the right platform to open opportunities for them," she said.
