Y ouTuber, content creator and businesswoman Mpoomy Ledwaba wants to empower women.
Speaking to SunBuzz, she said: “Women empowerment firstly starts with emancipating women and then creating access to spaces and industries where women were previously denied, providing mentorship and necessary resource.”
She said she’s been doing research to understand why we celebrate Women’s Month in Mzansi.
“So, for me, it’s recognising the privilege I have of being able to be who and what I want to be at any time.
“Because of previous disadvantages women faced, I have the liberty to be a businesswoman, mother and wife, and thrive in all those spaces,” she said.
Mpoomy said she’s excited about the guests she’s invited this month on her My Wisdom & Wellness podcast on YouTube.

“My first guest is Nomdeni Mdakhi, founder of Agenda Women which is another online platform that provides tools for women empowerment.
“I also will have Zola Nombona who is a phenomenal actress, who’s done incredible things in her industry.
“I will get to sit down with these women as they share their stories of success that can help so many women.”
Mpoomy said she thinks women empowerment should be done throughout the year and should be more vocalised.
“I’ve come across so many incredible women who have held my hand and helped me out, yet the problem lies in accessibility as other women are unaware of such women empowerment programmes,” she said.
“Instead of just August but also not minimising this month’s importance, it should be a big deal and continue throughout the year.
“There are a lot of platforms that support women, but they need the public’s attention,” said Mpoomy.
