AMAPIANO sensation Mashudu is facing turmoil as her Facebook account has been hijacked.
The musician, whose real name is Mashudu Mosoeu, said someone hacked her Facebook account in 2023 and this has affected her personal life and music growth.
The 24-year-old musician from Soweto said she missed a lot of great opportunities since her account was hacked.
Mashudu told Daily Sun that this incident took a toll on her as the person behind her hack has her booking number.
She said she tried to report it to Facebook several times, but it is still operating.
"My Facebook page, MashuduSA, was unfortunately hacked last year. The person who has done this pretends to be me and has access to innocent fans.
"I'm really hurt by this because I have not been able to access my fans the way I used to and it also messes up my image," she said.

Mashudu said this was after her breakthrough with her hit single Mina Nawe.
Despite this setback, Mashudu's resilience shines through, drawing strength from her musical roots and unwavering determination.
"For me, my music journey started with going to musicals and choir competitions during my school days from age seven and I gradually became interested in the world of classical music.
"I had a huge potential due to my strong voice and was identified by my vice principal, Mkhomi, at that time who decided to harvest the talent he saw," she said.

However, Mashudu's not alone in her ordeal as early 2024 another amapiano star, Lady Du faced the same ordeal. Lady Du's business email was hacked, and she lost some of her gigs due to that incident.
The musician, whose real name is Duduzile Ngwenya, told the SunTeam that this messes up brands a lot and she doesn't wish this on any artist.
"It makes your brand look like you're not good at anything. Some hackers also take bookings on your behalf of you. Some even take money, can you imagine. These ruins people's identify as many people no longer trust you as you appear to be fake," Lady Du said.
