COMPLETING the final matric exams is a relief for many grade 12 pupils.

And for amapiano star Mfana Kah Gogo, this means focusing on and being committed to his music career.

The 18-year-old from Castlekop in KZN, whose real name is Sipho Mbonambi, assured his fans he’s going to pass matric.

“Writing the matric exams is not easy, but with all the support from my gogo and my management, I can safely say that I’m going to pass. The question would be how. I breathed a sigh of relief after I finished writing,” he said.

Mfana Kah Gogo, who is a pupil at Fundinduku Secondary School, wrote his final paper, dramatic arts, on Tuesday.

He said his biggest dream is to become a successful businessman who will create job opportunities for the youth.

“I love making good music, but I first had to understand that it’s business. I mean, an artist is a businessperson. I don’t want to mention the nature of business I dream of running,” he said.

“But I know that I carry the dream of many youth. As an artist, I already have the youth looking up to me and I’m praying I don’t disappoint. I want to change lives, especially for those who come from poor backgrounds like myself.”

He said although he took a break from music to focus on exams, he stole a little time for his music projects. “But that didn’t disturb me at all.”
