It has been an amazing year for actress, TV and radio presenter Hope Mbhele.

The multi-talented personality recently scored big TV and radio gigs but she is not done yet.

She is now hoping to scoop the Favourite Rising Star Award at the DStv Mzansi Viewers’ Choice Awards.

Hope from Mthwalume, south of KZN, recently joined Metro FM, SABC1’s Uzalo, SABC1’s music show Issa Vibe and MTV Base.

She also starred in Minnie Dlamini’s movie, No Love Lost, as Amahle. She is up against rising personalities Young Stunna, Uncle Vinny, Daliwonga and Kwenzo Ngcobo, making her the only woman nominated in the category. The awards will be held at the Sun Arena in Pretoria on Saturday, 25 June.

Hope, who made a name for herself in the acting world as Busisiwe on Mzansi Magic’s Umkhokha, told SunBuzz she knows her career is blossoming but what is more important to her is to make sure she grows more and does her best.

“I feel honoured when I see that people recognise what I’m doing because I’m still new in the entertainment industry.

“It’s always a pleasure to know that people are recognising something in what I’m doing,” she said.

She said she hopes to scoop the award to be a good and practical example to other women, especially young women.

Hope, who is a former KZN-based Gagasi FM presenter, joined Metro FM last month to do the early morning show called The Morning Shake Up with Hope Mbhele on weekends.

“Being on Metro FM is a big move for me as I’m still willing to learn more about radio presenting. I know I will be a better person due to being part of the station.

“Although things seem to be going well in my entertainment career, I will not relax.

“I still want to learn and learning is my priority in the industry,” she said.
