MASKANDI star Khuzani Mpungose is being praised for organising a successful picnic by booking maskandi artists and musicians from other genres to perform.
Gcwalisa All White Spring Picnic was held at Kings Park in Durban on Saturday, 4 November, where musicians and music lovers painted the stadium white.
Musicians like Joyous Celebration, Cassper Nyovest, Sjava, Khuzani, Ntencane, Gatsheni, Jaiva Zimnike, Big Zulu, Dumi Mkokstad, Jumbo and many more shared the stage.
Khuzani (34) became the first maskandi musician to fill up at Moses Mabhida Stadium in 2019 with his festival called Gcwalisa Mabhida.

Gospel singer Jumbo Nyangiwe said it was nice to see a maskandi musician organising the event and inviting musicians from other genres to perform.
“It's good to see maskandi musicians growing like that and opening doors to other musicians," he said.
“We wish that this event can grow every year. We like to be part of it wearing white, wowing our music lovers."

Maskandi singer Jaiva Zimnike Khanyeza praised Khuzani for what he did for them as maskandi musicians.
“We are happy that Khuzani, as our colleague, opened doors to us," he said.
“We were so honoured as maskandi musicians to share the stage with Mzansi top musicians from other genres, who we hardly share the stage with."
Khuzani said he is honoured to have his second picnic successful and planned to get a bigger venue in 2024.
“I started the picnic last year to show that maskandi musicians and maskandi lovers can have picnics like other genres.
“I’m happy that even this year's picnic was successful, and I want to thank all music lovers who took their time to attend,” he said.
He announced that his new album will be out on 1 December.
