FOLLOWING the endless killings of traditional leaders in KZN, maskandi stars joined forces to stop the brutal killings.
Thokozani "Somnandi" Langa, Mthandeni "Igcokama Elisha" Manqele, Gadla "Makhombana" Nxumalo and Dumakahle "Phathas" Nkosi have teamed up and released the song titled Umkhuphulangwenywa to ask killers to stop.
Many of the amakhosi, izinduna and King Misuzulu’s loyalists have been gunned down since 2022.
This has raised concerns among KZN people.
When King Misuzulu officially opened the KZN Legislature in March, he called for a special summit to discuss strategies to end the killings.

"We decided to use our music to ask killers to stop this pandemic. Music is not only about singing and dancing, its about raising awareness and teaching people that they should not kill their traditional leaders.
“Traditional leaders and izinduna are our leaders. Even the holy bible sLegendary maskandi musician Thokozani Langa told Daily Sun that these murders also concerned them as musicians. ays we must respect them.
"Those who are killing them, they are just inviting curses for them,” he said.
He said that he suspects the current generation does not know about traditional leaders.
Maskandi musician Gadla Nxumalo said he feels honoured to be part of the song.
“We joined forces because we wrote a song that tells the truth and stops the pandemic that is a big concern in the province,” he said.
In March, KZN Premier Nomusa Dube Ncube announced that following the endless killing of traditional leaders, they have asked the security cluster to investigate and set up specialised units such as Traditional Leaders Safety Units.
