LEGENDARY maskandi musician Celazimnike Mtshali is sick and tired of young men who do not look for jobs but steal other people’s livestock in rural areas.

Celazimnike, who has been in the music industry since 1995, has released his 20th album titled Inj’uqhwayilahle, meaning rural jobless men are dogs.

The Amanxiwa hit-maker from Msinga in KZN told SunBuzz he has been noticing that in rural areas many young men are not bothering to look for jobs but they steal livestock.

“You can see the young man is smart, living a good life. But if you ask what he does for a living, he will just duck and dive, and if you do your own investigation you can see that he is stealing livestock.

“It is painful to those who are working hard and investing in livestock when someone just steals it instead of working for himself,” he said.

Celazimnike said although they have not stolen from him yet, he has noticed that many people are complaining about stock theft while thieves are also in the community enjoying themselves.

“With this song I’m warning all young men to stop stealing other people’s livestock and go to look for jobs like others do. In our area, a jobless man who is living in our rural area is called uqhayilahle, but this song is only dedicated to the young jobless men who can still work, not the older men who are on pension,” he said.

Celazimnike, who is also known as Isosha, started his music career in 1995 when he was in the group called Abanolwazi.

In 1997 he went solo and released his debut album titled Umyeni Wami.

He is about to mark a decade in music but he is still going strong with his unique maskandi tune, characterised by his unique lead guitar.

“The main reason I’m still here and people still enjoying my music is because I’m sticking to my talent and I’m not pretending to be anyone else.

“The reason why older musicians never go down is because they stick to their talent, unlike the new maskandi artists who are singing in the same way. That leads their song to fade after a month or less,” he said.
