IT seems yet another maskandi war is brewing and this time, the fight is between Khuzani Mpungose and Quality Biyela.
And the fight is so bad they're even threatening to open criminal cases against each other.
Daily Sun understands that both musicians went to the police station on Sunday, 1 October, but the cases were not opened.
The fight started on Facebook, when Quality called himself ilembe. He said days later, Khuzani and another maskandi artist also claimed to be ilembe.
"I had no problem with this. However, I did ask the difference between ilebe (labia) and ilembe. Funny enough, only Khuzani's fans were offended by this question. They attacked me, but I ignored them," said Quality.
On Saturday, 30 September the fight was taken to 150 Maskandi Festival held at Settler's Park Stadium, Mnambithi in KZN.
"I was an invited guest. Khuzani was on standby, waiting to go on stage. I was then informed that Khuzani wouldn't go on stage unless I introduce him to the crowd. Again, I had no issues with this because I've introduced him before," said Quality.
Quality alleged that a bouncer fetched him from the VIP area and took him to Khuzani.
"I was about to get on stage when Khuzani stopped me. He accused me of calling him ilebe. He then punched me in the face. I couldn't even respond or defend myself because the bouncer pulled me aside. On top of that, I was all by myself and Khuzani was flanked by his dancers. I left the scene," said Quality.
He said that he will open a case of assault against Khuzani.
"I haven't opened the case yet, but I can confirm that I approached the police. I am opening this case because I was assaulted by Khuzani.
"I feel that the incident was orchestrated. As a result, the incident is trending on social media. Therefore, I was publicly humiliated. My good reputation was intentionally defamed," said Quality.

On the other hand, Khuzani defended himself.
"Quality Biyela insulted me on Facebook, calling me ilebe. He came to hit me at an event 150 Maskandi Festival On Saturday, 30 September saying why do I call myself ilembe because this is his name.
"He was initially stopped from attacking me, but he later came back and insulted me. He blocked my way and I couldn't go on stage. He continued to insult me and that's when I klapped him. He took out a gun and fired several times in the air before he left the event," said Khuzani.
He said he has also approached the police with the intention to open a case.
This is a developing story.
