“Guys, there’s another world and it has its own life. And that’s the world of maskandi. They have their own world and it’s rich, it’s good, it’s healthy and it’s full of wealth,” he said in a video on his Instagram page.
“When I walked up on stage people went crazy. I saw Tira’s performance and it was healthy, AKA’s performance was healthy, Kamo Mphela’s performance was also healthy. And then Ntencane walked up on stage, ay no guys, those guys are real superstars. We’ve always thought we are superstars but we’re not on that level,” he said.
“Those guys are super mega stars. They’re killing it. That tells you that it’s OK to stay in your lane, it’s OK to run your race at your own pace. The pie is big for everybody. Then Khuzani arrived and he killed it. I respect maskandi, KZN, I give it to you, you’ve showed me, thank you,” he continued.
Somizi’s supporters couldn’t agree more.
Nomfacey commented: “That’s why these guys always win ‘song of the year’ via votes. They have massive following and their supporters make sure. If you’re up against umaskandi in a contest, forget about it.”
