MALEPONA is suing DStv’s Moja Love for R1 million for using her nude photo without her permission.

The inyanga, from Winterveldt in Tshwane, said the publishing had not only ruined her reputation but also affected her business.

She said some of her clients, who saw the photo paraded on Moja Love, were worried that they may also be dragged into the quagmire.

“My clients are top people and they fear to be dragged into this. They have decided not to consult with me. Can you imagine the loss to my business? I’m not ashamed to be naked because that is how I interact and heal my clients, but for someone to just splash my photo on TV for everyone to see? It’s unacceptable.”

In a letter, that is in Daily Sun’s possession, her lawyers instructed Moja Love to stop broadcasting her photo.

She said she wanted this to be a lesson to those who were still flagging it on social media.

“There is a certain comedian and pastor who used my photo, and I want them to stop as this amounts to violating my rights.”

AmaBishop intended to use the photo on it's Sunday show, along the topic on pastors using snakes.

The angry inyanga said she wanted to know how she was featured because she was not related to it.

“Where in the Bible does Malepona feature? They must leave me alone,” she said.

Malepona, whose real name is Ntshadi Mate (32), said she did not want anything to do with the show.

“I feel violated for the show to publish my photo to be viewed by the world. I have a husband and child. The only paper I gave permission to use the photo was Daily Sun.”

At the time Daily Sun published the story, Malepona wanted to clear her name. She said she would understand if the show was related to her profession.

“The promo you are referring to was prematurely delivered, once the error was picked up, we, as channel management, stopped flighting it and redelivered a new promo without the mentioned photo,” said head of Moja TV channels Bokani Moyo.
