MZANSI superstars Makhadzi, Focalistic, Uncle Vinny and Sbahle Mzizi are flying the South African flag high.
The media personalities have been nominated at this year’s Nickelodeon Kids’ Choice Awards.
Focalistic, Major League DJz, Makhadzi and soccer coach Pitso Mosimane have been nominated in the Favourite African Star category while Sbahle and Uncle Vinny are in the running for Favourite African Kidfluencer.
According to organisers of the awards, they nominated Focalistic because he had a long history of lifting the African flag on a global scale.
They added that they nominated Major League DJz because of the vital role they played in bringing “amapiano to the world” to life, having recently signed a global record deal with Atlantic Records.

Makhadzi was nominated because she was a force to be reckoned with while Pitso had set the bar for what a football coach could be.
Monde Twala, senior vice president and general manager at Paramount Africa, in a statement congratulated all the nominees.
“We are especially proud of the incredible diversity of representation across the continent, and congratulate all nominees who are positively representing Africa at this global event,” he said.
Nickelodeon Kids’ Choice Awards 2022 will broadcast on Nicktoons (DStv channel 308) on 13 April at 1.30pm WAT/2.30pm CAT.
