POPULAR singer Lerato “Lira” Molapo is celebrating the progress she has made in the past three months.
Taking to social media, she posted: “Yesterday marked three months since I had a stroke. I’ve made such awesome progress – I’m proud of myself and I give thanks to God. Your prayers have been massively appreciated.”
Lira, whose speech was impacted, said she could now speak.
“I can talk now, although I need a little patience. I can read and write. So much love for me makes me emotional. I am doing so well! With much love.”
Fellow industry peers were happy with her recovery, with media mogul Basetsana Kumalo sending a message of love.
“God sees. He knows and cares. You are the apple of His eye. Jehovah-Rapha, our healer, is with you darling. Sending you deep love sis,” she wrote.

American singer Kenny Lattimore said: “So happy to hear of your progress. We are all keeping you lifted in prayer as you make a full recovery!”
Lira’s family released a statement in April, announcing that she had suffered a stroke.
“As Lira’s family, we would like to share some recent development on her health. Lira recently travelled to Germany for a performance, but unfortunately suffered a stroke while there. As a result, her ability to communicate, in particular, her speech, has been impacted,” the statement read at the time.
