MISS SA 2015 Liesl Laurie is leaving Jacaranda FM.

Her last show will be on Thursday, 30 June.

She co-hosted the morning show, Breakfast with Martin Bester, on weekdays from 6am to 9am.

The news was announced by Jacaranda FM via their social media pages.

It was later shared by Liesl via her Instagram page.

The statement read: “After seven years at Mzansi’s favourite radio station, Liesl Laurie hangs up her earphones for the last time on Thursday, 30 June. Liesl started her journey at Jacaranda FM in 2016 shortly after completing her reign as Miss South Africa 2015 and ends her exciting chapter at Jacaranda FM as part of the award-wining and much-loved Breakfast with Martin Bester team.

“The team won the South African Radio Award for Best Breakfast Show on a commercial station last year.”

Commenting on her departure, Liesl said: “Saying goodbye is never easy. I’m going to miss the morning family as well as Martin and the JacaBreakfast team, but I’m so thankful for this experience and to have grown in a medium I have so much love and respect for.”

Her industry friends and supporters celebrated her and bid her farewell.

Zizo Tshwete wrote: “Keep going boldly towards your dreams. You have a strong tribe of supporters. Stay shining! And if you can fit it into your busy schedule, please make our friend a house husband. Geluk en alle liefde!”

Minnie Dlamini commented: “You grew so much there. I can’t wait to see what you get up to next. All the best angel, loads of love.”

Ayanda Thabethe said: “Well done on an incredible run.”

Natasha Joubert said: “Sad and happy for you at the same time. Excited to see what the future holds.”
