Sibongile Gangxa – commercial & stakeholder relations manager for MSG Afrika Broadcasting spoke to Daily Sun about the takeover.
“It’s a three-day on air takeover, which we change our normal line-up and replace it with some of South Africa’s leading women in their different sectors. This year, we reflected on the global pandemic and looked at women who are really keeping it together when it comes to the economy. And also, when it comes to giving people employment and keeping people inspired in the arts,” she said.
She said listeners also got to choose who they wanted to hear on the station, and former Safa vice-president Ria Ledwaba and Sibu came out tops.
“We had listenership participation to thank our listeners for being our emotional stakeholders. The nominations that came through came with resounding endorsements of Ria Ledwaba and a young trailblazer in the creative space, Sibu Mabena. She came out really strongly from the listenership participation,” she said.
