RENOWNED kwaito artist Sandile "Sandy B" Bhengu (47) has become the talk of the town among his music peers.
Sandy B recently made history as the first South African artist to perform on stage with Freddie Jackson at the concert that was held at the Durban’s ICC, on Sunday, 1 October.
Speaking about this historical moment, he said: "I was at Durban ICC to handle the programme when Freddie Jackson invited me on stage to perform his classic hit song, Rock With Me Tonight. We made an incredible team, and our captivating performance had the crowd calling for more. I decided to bring more energy to the stage, so as to prove my world-class skills and versatility. It was a great experience, and it will be remembered for years to come."
Sandy B said two weeks later, their collaboration is still the talk of the town.

"It was a significant achievement not only for me but for the South African music industry as a whole," he continued.
This performance happened right after Sandy B's successful world tour.
"When I started in the industry, I pushed myself up without TV and SA radio hype since the 90s and I've been filling up venues around the world over the years. I'm proud to mention that I'm also the man behind success of many other stars we know today," he said.
The KZN-born star reached stardom in the 1990s with his hit song, Ama jovi jovi but he has remained humble and grounded.
He said he believes that the world and his country should be proud to have him representing the cultural diversity of South African music and paving the way for new genres.
"I recently collaborated with Roisin Murphy, another dance music mega star. I believe that this collaboration further solidified my reputation. The music industry needs more artists like me - artists who are not afraid to push boundaries and experiment with new sounds and styles," he said.
