LEGENDARY kwaito artist Bonginkosi “Zola 7” Dlamini seems to have a special place in the hearts of many South Africans. .
After many calls of help for the star, the Kwaito Legends Festival has decided to dedicate this year’s event to him.
The festival, that will take place at The Bears Palace in Carolina, Mpumalanga, on 2 April, will have legendary kwaito artists on the line-up list.
Maskandi star Khuzani Mpungose, who is one of the sponsors, said it was important to honour legends while they were still alive.
“Zola changed people’s lives. Out of his good heart, he made sure that he served as the voice of the voiceless.

So honouring him while he’s still alive is an honour for me. I hope that people will come in their numbers to support the initiative,” said Khuzani.
The festival was launched in 2015 to develop and keep the kwaito legacy alive.
Kwaito stars who have performed at the festival include the late Mandoza and Mshoza.
Khuzani said everything was going according to plan, and he was honoured to be part of the festival.
“I’m the only artist who don’t sing kwaito to be performing at the festival. This is big for me,” he said.
Artist who will performer include the likes of Nestum, Mdu Masilela, Gumbafaya, Doc Shebeleza, Sbu Malawyer, Character and Mzambiya.
