Not many children from disadvantaged areas know how the entertainment industry operates.

But Ndebele musician, cultural activist and singer Kozwana took it upon herself to help young creatives in Mzansi reach their full potential.

The singer and poet, whose real name is Audrey Skhosana, told SunBuzz sharing her knowledge has always been her dream.

She believes that charity begins at home and that’s the reason she started the programme in Mpumalanga schools first.

She said the programme aims to bring skill development to the people with disabilities and create opportunities for women and men in Mzansi.

The 22-year-old said they go around schools in South Africa with their project Siyarhaya to teach the youth ways to live their dreams as entertainers.

“Siyarhaya project is the brainchild of AK Poetry Session, currently supported by the National Arts Council.

“It was initiated as a way to promote, maintain and introduce Ndebele content in mainstream media while also creating opportunities for unemployed youth, women, and people with disabilities,” she said.

Her message to young people who look up to her is that they must always look at life in a positive way even when things are going slow for them.
