THE much-anticipated play, Shaka Ilembe, might not see the light of day.

The reason is that King Shaka’s family, the Mthethwas and Mbatha, want to prevent the play from being broadcast. At the centre of their dispute are royalties and copyright issues.

In April 2023, they sent a letter of demand, but Mzansi Magic did not respond.
