MASKANDI star Khuzani Mpungose’s in-laws have responded to the allegations that he lied about paying lobola.

This week, production company The BarLeader TV, that produced Khuzani’s reality show Khuzani Boh, alleged that the musician made it broadcast lies ¬- including paying lobola.

This after Khuzani claimed that the company did not pay him for the show that was aired on SABC 1.

The in-laws told the weekly publication, based in Durban, Isolezwe, that they felt embarrassed after reading about the alleged lies.

Khuzani’s mother in-law Lungile Mathenjwa said what producer Legend Manqele had alleged embarrassed them in their home village of Ingwavuma, far north of KZN.

“Khuzani’s uncles came to pay lobola last year. My daughter has a baby with him, and he also paid damages. I’m embarrassed to have learnt that all of it was a lie,” said Lungile.

The BarLeader TV CEO Legend told the publication that he did not mean the episode where lobola was paid to the Mathenjwa family.

“There was another lobola that Khuzani told us to film, but we refused,” he said.
