AWARD-WINNING gospel artist Kholeka Dubula is terrified after cheating death.
This comes after an incident in Taung, North West, this past weekend where two of her car tyres burst due to potholes. Speaking to Daily Sun, the Ndiyakholwa hitmaker described the incident as a near-death experience.
Kholeka said she was billed to perform at the Taung Gospel Festival on 1 May and was driving alone late on Sunday evening. Soon after passing Schweizer-Reneke, she came across large potholes.

“Then I suddenly heard a loud bang and my car started swerving after I hit large potholes. I thought I was going to die. After managing to stop the car, I realised that my front tyres had burst. The terrifying thing was that it was in the middle of the night and I was stranded. Fortunately I managed to call the promoter, who came to pick me up,” said Kholeka.
Despite being traumatised, she managed to perform at the event before rushing back with the promoter to pick up her car and get new tyres.
“I never saw any sleep that night. We were only able to get new tyres by 6am, and I immediately drove back to Joburg. I will never forget that night and I thank God for saving my life. Imagine dying all the way in the North West and leaving my kids?” said the shaken Kholeka. Following the incident, she said it was high time the government fixed terrible roads in most parts of Mzansi. “That is a death road and many lives are going to be lost if it is not fixed soon,” said Kholeka.
