He said he feels too old for that.

Khaya recently took to Facebook and said he worked hard to be where he is today.

He wrote: “I’ve worked hard over the years and proved myself. I’ve done what resonates with my heart and purpose to worry or be validated by awards. I’m too old.”

Colleagues in the gospel fraternity supported him.

Sibusiso Mthembu wrote: “Keep up the good work, Nyambose. Forever proud of you, sir.”

Bucy Radebe commented: “I’m with you there … we know your work. It speaks for you. I have indeed taken notes here.”

Sharon Manyika said: “So true at the end of the day. The reason behind gospel music is not to gain awards. There’s a greater award. The most precious one. Well done my good and faithful servant.”

Busisiwe Mtsolo said: “I think God is looking at the great work you’ve done in worshipping Him and pouring out your heart in worship. You understand the meaning of worshipping Him in truth and spirit.”
