IT’S enough!

After 10 years of suffering, gospel legend Keke Phoofolo is ready to shake off the shackles of depression and get back to the recording studio.

On Saturday, 2 April, during the Inspired Praise Gospel session at The Carousel in Hammanskraal, Tshwane, the Sefapanong ke boha hitmaker revealed that things have been tough for him. And losing his mother last year was a painful experience that didn’t make things any easier.

“I praise God that I was able to survive even during the pandemic,” Keke said.

He said he will be touring the country to record and do what God has called on him to do.

He said the reason he came to wow gospel lovers in Hammanskraal is that there is a lot of talent there.

He cautioned upcoming artists to be careful as so many are being ripped off.

“Artists go through challenges, but don’t give up on your dream. Keep looking up,” he said.

Event organiser and owner of TP Online TV, Thapelo Mlambo, said they needed a legend such as Keke to pull crowds and motivate those who want to venture into gospel.

“There’s a lot of talent among us and for us to nurture it, we need a giant like Keke. We are grateful that he agreed to support this initiative,” said Thapelo.

“This show is all about escalating talent. We conducted interviews with different worshippers and found people who want to become singers.”

He said his plan is to bring gospel giants such as Ntokozo Mbambo, Thinah Zungu and others to the area.

Sylvia Maleka, who attended the session, said she felt revived and moved by Keke’s performance.

“I love this talented man of God and wouldn’t miss the show for anything.”
