POPULAR radio station Kaya 959 has made exciting changes to its line-up, including great news for fans of award-winning broadcaster Andy Maqondwana.
The presenter, who joined the station last year, has bagged her own show. She will now be taking over the weekday midday slot with Feel Good with Andy Maqondwana.
Managing director Sibongile Mtyali said in a statement that her appointment talked to Kaya 959’s on-air strategy of offering an authentic listening experience.
“The audience has shown their love for Andy, and given her their stamp of approval since she joined. She is as real as it gets,” she said.
The Kaya 959 family is all about growing its talent and Tyroline G Franks, a graduate from the Kaya development initiative, will move to presenting Saturday Nites from 9pm–12am.

Tyroline, whose background is in community radio at Eldos FM and a graduate of Wits Radio Academy, has been keeping Kaya 959 audiences entertained during the early morning weekend slot from 3am–6am, and as a traffic reporter on Kaya Drive.
Joining in the adjustments is popular media personality Mthokozisi “MaBlerh” Cele, who will be hosting Weekend Update every Saturday from 3pm–6pm.
Sibongile further said the station was proof that talent development was important.
“We want to give the amazing talent we have on the station an opportunity to grow and shine. We gave MaBlerh his first radio show in July 2021, and now he will have a daytime show. Tyroline came from a community radio station. Her passion and drive secured her the overnight trainee slot, and now she will host a Saturday night show.”
Another exciting addition to the mix is Angie Khumalo, a seasoned broadcaster with almost two decades of experience. She’ll be joining the station as a sports and traffic presenter on Thomas and Skhumba from 6am–9am.
