PRESENTER Katlego Maboe is back as the host of Tropika Island of Treasure.
He will replace musician and actor Naak MusiQ, who has been hosting the show in the past weeks. He officially takes over from Saturday, 15 October.
Katlego, who had been hosting previous seasons of the reality game show, took to social media to make the announcement with the hashtag #KatIsBack.

“Excited to reveal that I’ll be taking over the reigns in Seychelles for the all-star season of @mytropika Island of Treasure. Catch me and all the smooth contestants this Saturday at 6.30pm on @sabc3,” he wrote.
The first leg of the show took place in Durban, hosted by Naak. And now, the finalists are heading to Seychelles for the final episodes of the show.
The public relations company behind the show, Zebra Square, told the People’s Paper that replacing Naak with Katlego had always been part of the plan.
“Katlego’s reveal as the host of Tropika Island of Treasure season 10 all stars totally speaks to the theme of this season. It boasts a variety of exciting and unexpected twists and turns that are sure to keep the audience at the edge of their seats,” it said.
“Shot on two locations, this season’s contestant duos had to earn their flavours in St Lucia, KZN, before heading out to compete for their share of the grand prize in the Seychelles. With Katlego’s return as the host, this is just the kind of unexpected curve viewers would never see coming and adds much more excitement to the show, as per this season’s strategy.”

Celebrities on this season include Shashi Naidoo, Nay Maps, Khanya Mkangisa, Roxy Louw, Maurice Paige, Jonathan Boynton-Lee, Karlien van Jaarsveld and Brendan Peyper.
Katlego officially made his first return on TV in August when Expresso welcomed him back after two years. He had left the show after his public and sour break-up with ex-girlfriend and baby mama Monique Muller.
