IZANGOMA musicians Ubumbano LukaNzwakele are flying Mzansi’s flag high and showcasing the beauty of their music, dance and attire.
The group, produced by internationally acclaimed maskandi star Mbuzeni Mkhize, is set to perform at six cultural exchange festivals in India from Friday, 3 February.
Members flew to India on Wednesday, 1 February and will return on 11 February.
Leader gobela Zinhle Gasa Mngomezulu, who has been practising as a sangoma for 20 years, told Daily Sun it was their first time flying overseas.

Zinhle said her ancestor and great-grandfather Nzwakele, who used to sing, wanted her to travel the world with her music.
“I inherited my calling from my great-grandfather and now I want to teach the world about the of life as a sangoma and our music, rhythm and dance,” she said.
Zinhle is originally from Nkandla but is now based in Mbumbulu, south of Durban, where she graduated as a sangoma when she was 16.
She said people should understand that having the calling is not a choice as you are chosen by your ancestors. She said you could be a sangoma and continue to be fashionable.
