Rising star Malusi Dlodlo, popularly known as ImacSoul, is making waves with his single Sweet Melanin.
Speaking to SunBuzz, ImacSoul said he penned the song at the peak of the pandemic and shared that he enjoyed working on the track.
“The song was written to re-elevate the price of African beauty and its pride.
“I feel African women should embrace their looks and hair more,” said ImacSoul.
According to the 26-year-old musician, with the song he’s celebrating all queens who have come to realise that their coarse hair and ebony skin is as beautiful and the fairer skin tones.
“I hope this song can change the outlook of society by embracing being African,” he shared.

The KwaNongoma-born singer, who made his mark when he released his debut single Inkinga, said that he’s not ready ye to release a full project.
“For now I have fireballs ready to rock every living soul.
“I believe my fans will get a treat this year with the music we are going to drop,” he said.
Although he’s making his mark in a big way, ImacSoul said that his journey in the music industry has not been easy.
“To make it worse, I started working with a new record label in the heat of Covid.
“I have found success in my first single but I strongly believe Sweet Melanin will be the season I shine the most.
“I hope to bring more of me to the game,” he said.
