Envic Booysen was recently eliminated from Idol's Season 19 singing competition.

ARTIST, songwriter, aspiring designer and Idols top 6 finalist, Envic Booysen, says he joined the singing competition to get exposure.

The 25-year-old from Cape Town was recently eliminated from the competition.

Although Envic is sad that Mzansi didn't hear his final performance, he was happy to be part of the final season.

"I had the help from Idols, and I had the tools to realise my dream. I'll record new music and not let my name fade away," he said.

Envic said that he is happy for his supporters.

"I want to thank my fans for their continuous support. This would not have been possible without you, and I know I love and appreciate each and every one of you for your votes and support," he said.

He said his favourite performance on the show was the showstopper week.

"It was a lot, but that's in my top two," Envic said.

He said he didn’t participate on the show for only himself.

"I also did it for my hometown. A lot of people in my community were rooting for me and were proud of me," he said.

He said some of the former Idols SA contestants who inspired him were Amanda Black from season 11.

"My goal is to build a solid career that will be timeless, just like Amanda Black did," he said.
