Legendary actress Tina Jaxa is taking on a new role and this time, she will be playing a pastor’s wife.
Tina will star on BET drama Redemption as Evelyn, a pastor’s kid who marries a preacher.
The series also stars actors such as Themba Ndaba, Sthandiwe Kgoroge, Yonda Thomas, Kwanele Mthethwa, Sparky Xulu, and Pearl Modiadie.
Tina shared on how she prepared for her roles, 40 years into her career.

“As soon as I get the part I get home, find a comfortable space like a bed or coach and lie down. I then start the journey; I try to find the person I am meant to portray. I go into that spiritual space and introduce myself to the character. I respect my characters and take them seriously. I respect every character I’ve played for the past 40 years,” she said.
She told SunBuzz that her character made her want to be a better person.
“My character is so honourable, respectable, kind and wise. She takes care of her family and other people. She’s everything I’d like to be. For the first time ever, roles are swapped. There are so many things that I find beautiful about Evelyn, and they’re adding onto my life,” she said.
Tina said that the cast of Redemption were the best she has ever worked with.
