DJ JURIST “Hypersonic EQ” Mdluli is famously known for being a giant and wizard when it comes to spinning vinyls.
The Kokwana wa Tinsimu hitmaker from Bushbuckridge told SunBuzz his love of music started at an early age.
He was inspired by his late father, who bought him his first DVD player which helped unearth his musical talent.
“I then started collecting records of vibrant DJ Clock, DJ Ganyani, Euphonik, DJ Kent, Revolution and more from Soul Candi.
“I then realised that I can do it. And I did it,” he said.
He said all the magic unfolded when he later joined DJ Sdunkero’s Groova Records as the company’s marketing manager.
After passing his matric in 2017, he enrolled for a music production course in Joburg.
This was before he started his own record company, House Nashin.
“I dropped my first ever EP, A Matter Of Time, in 2020.
“It’s a tribal house sound, which received a positive response from local and national radio stations,” he said.
Hypersonic EQ has other singles such as Give Me Another Chance, featuring Bongi Mathlabane and Guiro featuring Majava.
These are available on digital music streaming platforms such as iTunes, Deezer and Spotify.
He said he will be dropping another EP soon.
