JAZZ singer Sipho “Hotstix” Mabuse has paid tribute to his late friend and colleague, Johnny Clegg.
On his Facebook post, he wrote: “I really have fond memories of Johnny and all the work he did. He adored me and I adored him.
“Johnny gave so much to the cultural and musical language of this country and it is an honour to be on the bill to pay tribute to a giant.”
He was speaking ahead of an official tributary concert scheduled to take place on Sunday, 17 July, at Emmarentia Botanical Gardens in Joburg.
This concert will feature Jesse Clegg, Hotstix, Msaki, Majozi, Zolani Mahola, Soweto Gospel Choir, Sipho Mchunu, The Johnny Clegg band and many more.

Johnny’s colleagues in the music industry and fans couldn’t be happier about the upcoming event.
His son, Jesse wrote: “Exactly one week to go to the Official Johnny Clegg Tribute Concert at Emmarentia in Joburg.
“This is one of the biggest line-up of SA artists ever and is a celebration of my father’s life and legacy for a good cause.”
Matshahani Manyawusi commented: “Very much profound. Our legend. Salutations.”
