HLEGIWE Mdlalose’s music spreads the message of love, hope and standing firm in your faith.

The 33-year-old singer from Germiston in Ekurhuleni, who is best known by her stage name Soula, told SunBuzz that the beauty of her music is that it carries good news for all.

She said she wants to empower others with her talent and restore hope in those who are going through challenges.

Soula said she was blessed to discover her purpose at an early age.

“I started singing from an early age. “The word of God has shaped me as a minister and made me understand that music is a tool to touch people’s hearts,” she said.

Soula said she knew that this is what she was destined for since the age of six.

“I would participate in pre-school concerts and my teachers would always notify my parents that I had a talent. I also come from a family where gospel music was a very big part of our family culture. Charity begins at home,”she said.

The musician said her brother played piano and they would always gather as a family to sing songs and pray every night .

“My brother would also help me prepare songs for church or any family gatherings. I joined the choir at the age of 15 and I’ve been doing music since then,”she said.

In her career, Soula has had the honour of working with her mentor, Nigerian singer Sinach.

“She has always inspired me as an international artist and music minister. What also inspires me about her is that she is the same person on and off stage,” she said.

Soula said she’s very spiritual and writes music from the heart.

“I’ve also worked with Jub Jub on a gospel song in 2022.

“I’ve also recently done some vocals for De Mthuda and Kwiish SA.

“My song, I Believe, came out on Friday, 27 January.

It’s a song that I wanted people to start the year with, asIt speaks about releasing faith tobelieving in endless possibilities,” she said.

The musicain said the song celebrates the power of positive thinking at most, the song is a proclamation of good things to come.

“I’ve worked with Dr Thulz and Mpendulo Mhlanga on the song as producers.”

I think they understand me as producers and they are able to interpret my music in a way that I can easily connect with,”she said.

“This is my first sing le. I am currently working on some music projects which will be released sometime this year,”she said.

The singer said she would like to work with Tazzy, Ntokozo Mbambo, and singer Hle.

“I love and respect these artists and how they put their hearts in their crafts. I connect with their music so much ,”Soula concluded.
